The Real Challenge
Balancing a powerful search/filter system with a clean, engaging interface across devices.
1.
Login & Sign Up
Started with a basic single-field form—yawn. Iterated to a two-step flow with social logins and inline validation that high-fived users on success.
2.
Login & Sign Up
Final polish: added a password strength meter and a friendly “Welcome back!” greeting, making sign-in feel both personal and fast.
3.
Home
Initial grid of listings felt static. Added dynamic cards, hover animations, and quick-filter tags to make discovery fun.
4.
Home
Refined with personalized recommendations and a “Recently Viewed” strip—users felt the app knew them.
5.
Property Details Page
V1 overloaded with info. Switched to a tabbed layout with progressive image loading and human-centred copy.
6.
Property Details Page
Polished by adding a sticky booking bar with real-time rates and guest selectors—making booking irresistible.
7.
Search & Filters
Tested endless filter panels—users got lost. Consolidated key filters into a collapsible sidebar with a live result counter.
8.
Wishlist & Share
Built a simple heart icon—too subtle. Introduced animated heart bursts and social share popovers, turning saving into delight.
9.
Booking a Property
First draft spanned three pages—drop-off heaven. Merged steps into one page with inline edits and tooltips, cutting flow time by 50%.
10.
Booking a Property
Added progress indicators and a confetti animation on confirmation—booking felt like a victory lap.
11.
Booking Details
Initial email was plain text. Designed an in-app booking dashboard with calendar sync and clear next steps—guests applauded.
12.
Messages & Chats
Started with a simple thread list—meh. Added media previews, quick-reply buttons, and typing indicators for live-feel convos.
13.
Profile & Settings
Profile was buried deep. Moved settings into a tabbed sidebar, added avatar upload and a playful “Update your vibe” tooltip.
